Free for Novice pilots and pilots under 16 years old.
This contest will be two one-day mixed launch events. Awards will be the ESL Small Plaque inserts for 1st-3rd each day and 1st overall for the weekend. Best Overall receives a $25 gift card.
Big plaques will be discounted according to the ESL award plan.
ESL winches will be provided. Electric launch should be towards the turn-arounds for at least two seconds, with the motor shut off after 30 seconds, or at 150m altitude, whichever is first. Clock starts at motor shut-off. Electric launch may commence immediately following a winch launch, but a winch launch following an electric should wait until a few seconds after electric motor shut-off to minimum conflict in the landing area. CD or line manager may elect to determine launch order based on conditions and group composition.
The field will be available for informal practice on Friday before the event.
The contest will be managed using the AMA Soaring Rules 2024-2025 with the following options and exceptions:
The Landing score will be a circle graduated 5 points per meter, with the two meters closest to the center graduated at 1 point per 20 cm, with a 100 point maximum and 30 point minimum. (15 meter F3J tape).
The landing scores will be the CD's choice of: ESL's C-delta, add-on bonus or normalized with the flight score.
Varios and Skegs allowed.
Both days will have 2-3 rounds of random MOM flight groups and then switch to Seeded MOM groups.
There will be safety zones defined depending on conditions the day of the contest. There will be 1 for the parking/set-up area, 1 for the winch area and 1 for pilot safety.
10 minute flight tasks.
1st to 3rd place daily. Gift card for best two-day performance.

Saturday there will be no rounds starting after 4:35 PM and Sunday no rounds starting after 2:36 PM. A short lunch break each day. No food provided. Please bring your own picnic and drinks.
Primitive camping is allowed. Porta potty on the field. Restroom in the hangar is available.
